Quarantine Diaries

Due to the rapid spread of the fatal disease, CoronaVirus, the whole of India is on a complete lockdown till the 14th of April, while most people hoarded groceries on the date of declaration, some people continue to be living on whatever they can find, well I’m happy yet sad to say that my conditions are not the same, I feel like I’ve been eating better food during quarantine than I’ve been eating before. Everyone is at home, and boredom strikes very easily, and what better way to kill boredom than to cook food and eat it yourself.

It began with experimenting with flavors and textures, the first experiment was the Lime pie. Lime by far is my favorite flavor to be incorporated into deserts, tangy food is what I live for!
And then to keep up with the yet ongoing trend, the korean famous, Dalgona coffee, which is simply whipped coffee over iced milk.

What’s the best drink to have during the hot summers in Goa? Urrak! Urrak is also referred to as Jungle juice. It is the cousin of the well known, Cashew feni.
This salad was made with all organic vegetables, and this would also be a meat lover’s favorite as it had chicken in the form of hotdogs, pork in the form of crunchy bacon, and salt-fried prawns.
Banoffee pie is my almost signature dessert. And getting bananas to make it, was truly a blessing.
And this my friends, was the closest I could get my hands on street food.
To top it all of, we made veg pasta due to the abstinence from meat on Good Friday.

Despite all shortages, I would like to Thank the Almighty God for all that he’s given me.

Stay Home, stay safe.
